Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar is a handcrafted cheese rooted in the traditions of the Orkney Islands in Scotland. Made on Prince Edward Island using unpasteurized Holstein cow's milk from small local farms, this cheese is aged for 12–18 months to develop its complex flavors. The salt air and iron-rich soil of PEI contribute to its unique taste, while the traditional clothbound aging method allows the cheese to breathe, resulting in a firm texture with rich, full-bodied flavors and a tangy bite. With notes of fruit and toasted nuts, Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar has earned numerous prestigious awards, including Grand Champion at the 2023 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
